4.30pm - arrived at John O'Groats. Blowing a hooley, sea mist has descended and the road has run out. It's been a fantastic trip with lots of highs and equally a few lows. Feel elated and looking forward to coming home.

Friday 1 June - Day Thirteen - (part two) Lybster to John O' Groats
@ 2007-06-01 – 16:35:03
Left coffee break and continued up the coast magnificent views. However wind getting stronger and, to my surprise, very hilly up here with some long climbs. 1.45pm - have reached village of Lybster and stopped for a pub lunch. 40 miles gone and, according to the signs, 33 miles to John O'Groats. Feeling very tired now but the toastie should do the trick to get me to the finish.

Friday 1 June - Day Thirteen - (part one) Golspie to Lybster
@ 2007-06-01 – 11:15:37
Woke up this morning to cloudless blue skies. The BBC weather girl was promising a strong south westerly wind. Had a late start (10.15am) inevitably a south west wind was in fact a strong north easterly one!
It's now 11.15am and we've cycled an hour up the picturesque east coast and have now stopped after 18 miles coffee in Helmseale. 55 miles to go...
